In the Mcu, SABER Might Be a SWORD Space Station
In Marvel Comics, SWORD is in charge of protecting Earth from threats that come from outside the planet. This includes threats from other planets and from other dimensions. SWORD is the first line of defense against unknown threats from space who often come to Earth looking for a fight.
SHIELD is meant to protect Earth from itself. In the MCU, there is at least one SABER space station. Fury was in it before the Secret Invasion. Also, the video for The Marvels makes it look like SABER’s job is to look for strange things outside of Earth, which should be SWORD’s job. So, SABER could still be a SWORD space station.
It wouldn’t make sense for the MCU to introduce SABER as Earth’s first line of defense against alien threats so soon after introducing SWORD in WandaVision. Not only would that make people confused, but it would also make it pointless to make a new group that wasn’t from Marvel Comics.
The most likely thing is that SABER is an addition to SWORD, maybe a special space station with its own goals. This idea is strengthened by the similar style of nicknames, which are also connected to SHIELD. Still, it’s strange that WandaVision’s SWORD was fighting Wanda, a threat on Earth, while SABER is doing “space work.”

In Phase 2, however, Captain America: The Winter Soldier showed that HYDRA had been a part of SHIELD from the beginning, which caused SHIELD to fall apart by the end of the movie. In The Winter Soldier, Nick Fury faked his own death, which changed a lot about Samuel L. Jackson’s MCU character.
