Co-founded Facebook with Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, Andrew McCollum and Dustin Moskovitz, in a Harvard University dorm room in February 2004. Mark was still a tennager at the time resulting in him amassing a personal fortune, inspiring 1 in 7 people in the world to use his creation and changed how the world communicates before he was 30.
Originally called Facemash created for students to judge online, the attractiveness of their dorm friends, soon developed into thefacebook.com becoming an online directory of all Harvard students. It is now a worldwide social media network with over 250 million users.
Facebook's main colour is blue as Mark is colourblind and this is the colour he sees best.
His dog, Beast, has his pwn Facebook page with 1.5 million followers.
In December 2015 he and his wife announced they would donate 99% of their wealth to good causes during their lifetime through a new organisation called the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The latter is not a charity but a privately owned company which will reportedly allow the Zuckerberg's to go beyond making philanthropic grants. It's mission is to "advance human potential and promote equality."
When he was 12 he developed a messaging program on an Atari which he called 'Zuknet'. It was dopted by his father in his dental practice and by the whole family to communicat ewith each other.
Named "Person of the Year" in 2010 by Time Magazine.
In 2016 he was ranked the 16th richest person in the world by Forbes with an estimated fortune of $47.1 billion.
